Abstract

The STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) approach is increasingly being applied in science learning as an effort to improve students' scientific literacy. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the STEAM approach in science learning and its impact on students' scientific literacy through a literature review of ten relevant articles. The analysis shows that STEAM implementation is carried out through various patterns, including STEAM integrated into Project-Based Learning (PjBL), Problem-Based Learning (PBL), STEAM-based teaching materials or worksheets (LKPD), the RADEC and Discovery Learning learning models, and STEAM-based edupreneurship. This implementation has an impact on improving students' scientific literacy, including understanding of scientific concepts, scientific process skills and competencies, scientific thinking skills, understanding of the context of science, and scientific attitudes such as curiosity, responsibility, collaboration, and self-confidence. Thus, the implementation of the STEAM approach has been proven to improve students' scientific literacy through contextual, integrated, and student-centered learning.
